Nizwa Castle was built in the mid-17th century during the reign of Imam Sultan bin Saif bin Malik Al Ya’arubi. Its construction took around 12 years, and it is one of the most important and prominent castles in Oman. The castle features a large circular design with a diameter of about 45 meters and a height of 34 meters. It includes 7 gates, and near the castle, there is the traditional Nizwa Souq known for its handicraft industries.
